The Stranger Drop New Track From Upcoming Album
Brisbane prog-metal act The Stranger have kicked off the long weekend with a bang, dropping a new cut from their upcoming self-titled album, slated for an April 21 release. 'Solomon's Son' is the latest taste of what's to come from the band, an epic prog-metal track from the band that have drawn comparisons to acts such as Protest The Hero and Devin Townsend.
Joining their previous singles 'Divine Intervention' and 'The Whip', which both enjoyed spins on Triple J's The Racket, and with the filmclip for 'The Whipe' being featured on Rage, the band are really gaining traction and making a lot of noise. Both singles 'The Whip' and 'Solomon's Son' will be available on Spotify this Friday 14th April, with 'Divine Intervention' available on Spotify now.
The record was recorded by Adam Merker (Aversions Crown, Lagerstein, Disentomb) from Anderz Debeerz Studio with David Castillo (Katatonia, Bloodbath, Opeth) from Ghost Ward Studios on mix duties and Jens Bogren (Opeth, Devin Townsend, Caligula’s Horse) from Fascination Street Studios doing final master on the album.
Speaking on the record, Kalen Austin says "We are absolutely proud of our work on the album and what we are about to embark on, the release of our self-titled debut LP - and The Whip, we feel, is the epitome of what the record is about - heavy, fun and it's a favourite to play live."
The Stranger's self-titled LP will be available Friday April 21st on iTunes, Spotify and all other online outlets with 'The Whip' available instantly if purchased on iTunes. Pre-orders of the physical record are available on bandcamp now.
