Flynn Effect Release New Track
Brisbane alternative rockers Flynn Effect have given fans a sneak preview of their upcoming sophomore album Obsidian with the release of single ‘Fade’. The album, which will be available Friday August 4th, was recorded, mixed and mastered by guitarist Jesse Higginson and the band in his home studio, and will be available for pre-order this Friday.
The band, who have become known for delivering music with a theatrical flair, dramatic poise and a sound that hits like a hurricane, have been around since their debut as a live band in 2014. Their debut album Skin, which was released in October of 2014, was met with great success, and formed the building blocks for their newest offering, going deeper and broader with their sound.
On the topic of the new song and album, vocalist Tomina Vincent was forthright about the new direction. "Fade is all about going forward and persevering against all odds, no matter the setbacks and no matter the cost. Its a song about hope for the future, unity and the belief that together we can build something better. Fade was always our anthem of hope. We worked on this record for a couple of years and we faced some extremely difficult situations in our personal lives during that time, so it really shows where we were at and how we saw through the darkness of that period. We can't wait to share this album with the world - its a record that we love and are extremely proud of, and I think the most honest piece of work we've created so far. It shows Flynn Effect in a whole new light."
‘Fade’ will be available this Friday on Spotify and streaming services. It will also be the instant grat track on iTunes when pre-ordering Obsidian, which will be available for pre-orders this Friday as well.
