Balloons Kill Babies Release New Single/Video, Announce Launch Show
Instrumental post-rock three-piece outfit Balloons Kill Babies are peeling back the illusion of reality with their brand new song 'Illuzia' along with an accompanying filmclip. To launch the song, the band will be having a launch party at The Foundry on Saturday July 22, alongside their mates Kodiak Empire, Red In Tooth and Inovo, featuring their recent addition on drums and percussion (formerly of Dead Letter Circus and Three Tonne Deep).
'Illuzia', which is Hungarian for illusion, is the second single from Balloons Kill Babies in the lead up to the release of their EP Prodromal, which is produced by ARIA award winner Govinda Doyle. The song moves through moments of ambient calm, euphoria and disorienting chaos.
The visual interpretation is in collaboration with Luke McClean (Shots for Bands) and Beau Sharpe, taking place in an almost dream like space, with dancer Debbie Olcorn acting as the personification of the song's emotion and emergence of an idea in the mind's eye.
BKB's guitarist/songwriter Twiggy Carter is beaming about the launch show - "It's our first headlining show in a while and we couldn't be happier with how it's played out. The Foundry is an excellent venue and incredibly supportive of independent music and all the bands on the bill are not only close friends of ours, but incredibly talented. We shared a rehearsal room with Inovo, the vocalist/bassist of Red In Tooth is one of our crew members and we've worked closely with Kodiak Empire since both bands started."
Illuzia is available now on iTunes, Spotify and all good online outlets.
