SATELLITES ROLL OUT 'THREAD' SINGLE/VIDEO & UNLEASH 'BLACK DOG' EP RELEASE DETAI

Punk rockers Satellites have rolled out their brand new song 'Thread', and unleashed details about 'Black Dog', their new EP, produced by Troy Brady. New single 'Thread' premiered on the radio Wednesday night on triple j's Short Fast Loud, and pre-orders for the EP go live next Friday at iTunes for a Friday September 29th release date. The single will be available on Monday on Spotify.

Starting in 2013, the band have been through their fair share of member changes, including a change in singer, seeing Mitch Chamberlain stepped up from guitar to vocals. After taking some time to really work on 'Black Dog' with friend and producer Troy Brady, they've created something they're proud of with their upcoming EP.

Coming off the back of a recent headline tour with New Zealand legends, Braves and Melbourne's resident sad boys, Bukowski, with the anticipation of new music looming closely behind, "Black Dog" is finally their way to show that Satellites' trials of the past have not been in vain.

Vocalist Mitch Chamberlain gave his thoughts on how the single's themes and lyrics came about. "'Thread' is about my struggle to come to terms with the fact that I may just have to accept the mould that society has chosen for me. Maybe I was never presented with the opportunity, or maybe, I just didn't have the guts to do what needed to be done to get where I wanted to be. And maybe now I've run out of time."

The "Black Dog" EP was produced, recorded and mixed by Troy Brady. He was also responsible for "Glass Jaw" way back when now vocalist Mitch Chamberlain first took over on vocal duties. Like "Glass Jaw' the record was also mastered by Gareth Hargreaves and the video was shot at multiple locations around Brisbane by Jack Marshallsea from DC Film.

Single 'Thread' will be available in Spotify on Monday coming.

Black Dog will be available to pre-order on iTunes from Friday the 18th of August, to be released on Friday September 29th.
