Review by Nicole Roberts
Adelaide's loud and proud rockers Grenadiers are back with a vengeance with their third LP Find Something You Love And Let It Kill You. The hard rockin' trio's latest offering packs an almighty punch, with ten short, fast, and furious tracks that will pummel you from the opening strains of and relatable 'Drunk and Broke' to the last refrains of 'Ramona'.
The tracks may be short, but they're tight and to the point. The bands mixture of rock, punk and hardcore traits mean that not a single guitar strum, beat of the drum or vocal line is wasted. Perhaps it's the frustration of how many hurdles the band had to face to get this album out there (mixing issues and financial woes, the usual enemies of the independent band) that has made Find Something You Love And Let It Kill You so fierce, ferocious and succinct. Perhaps it's just that their songwriting is getting better with every record. Maybe it's both. Whatever it is, the band have really pushed themselves with this record, packing a wallop with every track.
If you're a fan of gritty rock with elements of punk and hardcore thrown in, this album is definitely for you. It's rowdy, brash and a whole lotta fun.
7 out of 10.
Find Something You Love And Let It Kill You is out November 10th via Green Room Records.
