Live Performances & Music Docos To Watch During Self-Isolation
With the current spread of Coronvirus getting in the way of our day-to-day lives, one of the main activities taken away from us includes live music. One of the most popular things to do seemingly, whether it's a big time festival, a local gig down at the pub, or a massive arena show. As these shows have been canceled, venues are temporarily closing their doors, and artists are practicing self-isolation, music fans may need the solace of live music more than ever before. So, we've put together a list of some of our favourite live performances and music documentaries that you can watch from the comfort of your own living room. It might not be exactly the same as the energy and excitement you get from being a part of live crowd, but it's basically all we have right now, so grab some snacks and your favourite cold beverage and enjoy!

Code Orange - Last Ones Left: In Fear of the End
After canceling their album release show over Coronavirus concerns, Code Orange found a way to deliver a game-changing solution to concert restrictions. The band decided to make it up for their fans and live stream their performance via Twitch. This way, they got the chance to celebrate their new record "Underneath" and to be one of the first (if not the first) act to live stream a show at an empty venue.
FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY Live In The K! Pit (Tiny Dive Bar Show)
Fit For An Autopsy bring their brutal deathcore to The K! Pit in Brooklyn, New York, for an intimate gathering at a tiny dive bar called The Gutter. The K! Pit shows also have a great list of other performances, ranging from heavy acts such as the brutal nu-core of Vein to the raucous stoner sludge of Baroness, as well as many more.
GOJIRA @ Pol'And'Rock Festival 2018
The sound and production of this live performance is simply phenomenal, which is to be expected from Gojira after all these years. But can we take a minute to appreciate the work done by the light artists? The colors in this show are insane and it's got to be one of the visually most pleasing concerts I've ever watched.
PARKWAY DRIVE - Full Set Performance @ Bloodstock 2019
From humble beginnings in Byron Bay, to performing in front of tens of thousands of rowdy, screaming, European die-hard metal fans. Last year saw Parkway Drive headline Saturday at Bloodstock and they proved they belong amongst metal's elite.
Iron Maiden - Live Wacken 2016
There's not much to be said about this legendary heavy metal group. Everyone knows that they always deliver when it comes to live performances, and this one sees Iron Maiden close The Book of Souls Tour with an electrifying performance at Wacken Open Air.
Misþyrming (IS) - COVID-19 Quarantine Stream from Tallinn, Estonia.
Now it's time for some evil, dark, cold, black metal from Iceland. After the Estonian government declared the state of emergency all public events were canceled, including Misþyrming's show at Sveta Baar in Tallinn. After long discussions and analyzing all risks, the venue still decided to host the band in Tallinn in live-stream format from the most underground venue in town.
Metal Evolution - Extreme Metal | FULL EPISODE
One of my favourite episodes from the Metal Evolution series, is this one delves into the origins of extreme metal. Featuring bands like Death, Morbid Angel, Carcass, Entombed, Darkthrone, Dimmu Borgir, Opeth, guttural vocals, blast beats, lyrics about death and the occult. Banger Films really did do an incredible job with this lost chapter in Metal Evolution, the biggest-ever TV series on the history of heavy metal and hard rock.
Until The Light Takes Us Full Documentary
Probably the most famous black metal documentary, "Until The Light Takes Us" tells the story of the controversial metal genre. Part music scene and part cultural uprising, black metal rose to worldwide notoriety in the mid-nineties when a rash of suicides, murders, and church burnings accompanied the explosive artistic growth and output of a music scene.
SLAVE TO THE GRIND (2018) Full Documentary
Just recently uploaded by the documentary makers with this nice message. "As we all are forced into an unprecedented pandemic it might be nice for us to have some films to watch during our downtime. I have friends from the worldwide grindcore community who have been struck by the Coronavirus in many different ways." I enjoyed this one very much.
