An Evening With Plini + Friends Coming To Sydney and Melbourne
Sydney's own prog virtuoso Plini is returning home for special performances in two of Australia's most reputable small venues. Having already conquered Europe and North America with debut headlining tours, Plini will be bringing an expanded live ensemble to his Sydney and Melbourne shows, which will include rarely-played fan favourites and tracks from his lauded debut album Handmade Cities.
With Handmade Cities being described by Steve Vai as "one of the finest, forward thinking, melodic, rhythmically and harmonically deep, evolution of rock/metal instrumental guitar records I have ever heard" it will be a show that shouldn't be missed.
Joining Plini will be Mike Dawes and Instrumental (ADJ). Mike Dawes has charmed audiences with his solo acoustic shows, wowing fans with his creative modern fingerstyle guitar performances. Creating unexpected tones and textures from a single acoustic guitar, he's a one of a kind performer. Instrumental (ADJ) is the Sydney trio that create a unique sound, drawing on their wide range of influences, from Miles Davis to Blotted Science; Squat Club to Hiatus Kaiyote; The Brecker Brothers to Metallica. One of Australia's best underground acts, they'll round out the stellar line up nicely.
Before each show, you can attend a one-hour long Masterclass and Q+A session with Plini, tailored to the interests of the group and covering anything from composition & guitar techniques to touring & building a career as an independent musician.
