Show Us Ya Tees: Matt Turkington of Splatterpuss

If you're a metalhead then chances are you've got a wardrobe full of black t-shirts featuring the artwork and designs of some of your favourite bands that you love to listen to. We all have a particular shirt that you always go to, you've probably worn it countless times at the live shows you attend, drenched in beer and sweat, but still surviving. They might represent a special memory, a chronicle in your life, or just something that represents the music you love. They are the shirts that you can't wait to wear again after they've been washed and dried, so you can wear it with pride as soon as you can. Band tees are simply the uniform for those that are super passionate about music. For this edition, Matt Turkington, brutal frontman of Splatterpuss and Internal Devour, also the owner of Vicious Instinct Records shares his favourite band tees with us.

Splattered longsleeve; this shirt will always hold a special place as it was the first I wore on stage with Splatterpuss. Being from QLD I was fucking freezing this night in Ballarat so the longsleeve was the only choice! Nothing better then playing death metal with your best friends in a comfy as fuck longsleeve.

Disentomb windbreaker; This is easily in my Top 5 favourite pieces of merch. Such a sick design and even better because its a band full of some close mates. Over the last few years I have been hanging out with the Disentomb boys more and more and with that has come friendship. I am always pumped to rep a mates band but its not often they are as talented as Disentomb.

Defeated Sanity; Fuck, where do I begin? I only got this tee recently but I feel like I have warn it as much as some shirts I have had for years haha. They are my favourite band by far. There is something about throwing on one of your favourite band shirts and rolling out into the world. It can cheer you up on a shit day or make a good day even better.

Carnivorous Voracity. Another shirt I thrash! This shot was taken from our most recent show at The Bendigo Hotel w/Whoretopsy and Hollow World. It was fucking nuts, the support for our set blew me away. As for the shirt itself; I love this album. It absolutely slays and anyone reading this needs to suss it. This shirt serves as a reminder to me to always be looking for new music. When I found this band I was finding it hard to find any new brutal death releases that resonated with me, which was bumming me out. I stumbled across "The Impotus Doctrine" by Carnivourous Voracity at some ungodly hour of the morning and it's stayed on the weekly playlist ever since!
