Flynn Effect Release New Track 'Colossus'

Flynn Effect have treated fans to another taste of their upcoming EP, Monument!, with the release of the second single 'Colossus'. The new single, which features ex-Caligula's Horse drummer Geoff Irish, follows on from lead single 'Believer', really giving us a look at what we're in for when their newest offering drops Friday July 6th.

The Brisbane-based metal band are in the middle of a string of shows in support of their previous single, 'Believer', having already played Sydney and Newcastle, with their Brisbane and Melbourne shows lined up for this weekend. Vocalist Tomina Vincent said of the new single, "It’s actually about the pointlessness of war. I’m a bit of a military history enthusiast and I’ve always wanted to write about that, and finally I got the opportunity to. I’m fascinated by people’s experiences during war time and especially what they are capable of faced with that kind of environment. Colossus itself tells the story of a combat unit, marching to their death with a song on their lips, knowingly going to their death. I just love that paradox and it created a really cool contrast with the uplifting melody. It’s my favourite song from the EP."

Flynn Effect's forthcoming EP will be out Friday July 6th with pre-orders live now.

You can grab single 'Believer' on Spotify and Apple Music now, with 'Colossus' available this Friday June 29th.
