EP Review: CRISISACT - Turn It Off

Artist: CrisisAct

Title: Turn It Off

Genre: Grind

Review by Sam Radojcin

When members of Psycroptic, King Parrot & Revocation convene to pay homage to all things extreme and grind, you know it’s going to be something special. CrisisAct are here and ready to 'Turn It Off'.

Let’s get down to brass tacks, it’s grind. There aren’t any tracks over 1 ½ minutes. There are 11 tracks in 11 minutes.

"Putrid Existence", the Morbid Angel-esque "Odorous Incision", "Dead And Buried" and "Parasite" bring the groove and destroy all in their path like a fleet of bulldozers, "Fuck Knows If I Die", "Turn It Off" and "The Dog In Me Unleashed" bring the hardcore / punkish feel and "You Are Pathetic", "Ravaged" and "Hate Intensified" are pure grind to their core.

Musically at it’s core, it’s unmistakably Joe and Dave Haley respectively with their signature guitar and drum performances, where Revocation’s Brett Bamberger pounds out a jackhammer of bass and Matt Young releases his screeching and causting vocal attack.

Like a violent bludgeoning, 'Turn It Off' hits hard, fast and relentless without any regards or remorse. Plain and simple, CrisisAct aren’t here to fuck around.

The debut EP release 'Turn It Off' will be unleashed on September 17th 2020.
